B? That's a new one on me! Can anyone cite a composition (orch., chamber, or solo) that actually requires that note from the cb?
"Wozzeck" by Alban Berg, Universal Edition full score from page 398 onwards. A few bars before, Berg writes "Kb. stimmen die C Saite nach H" ("Basses tune the C string to B").
