That's exactly the point. The musicians I play with last 17 years in this country, Bar 5 means the middle of an 8 bars phrase section, Bar 9 means the middle of a 16 bars phrase section, Bar 17 means the middle of a 32 bars phrase section, And no one cares over number 32 :-) It's a lot faster for them to locate during rehearsal. If this is not conventional, that's fine with me.
