I agree that they promised this and never delivered (they promised it for 2k4, so I doubt this promise is still valied for 2k5). However, I rather expect that programming anything that works like this with the current authorisation scheme will cost them a lot of resources (because the current system authorizes to certain hardware). For that reason, and also for the reason I don't want them to go back to one authorization only (which is pretty sure to happen if they make the authorization transferable) I rather hope they put these resources into fixing EPS and the like.

Transferable authorization? Ask a Sibelius user how well that works, the last I heard people weren't exactly impressed. Plus, in Hiro's case I rather doubt this would be the answer, as the process of de-authorising and re-authorising would be far too inconvenient when he just wants to use the next free machine to enter a few bars of music.

That's all I'm asking for, and only because they promised it. I would expect it to work, though.

In Hiro's case, I'm wondering whether the best solution wouldn't be to get a fifth computer and use it only for Finale... so it would always be free. Rather than have to worry about authorizations with each upgrade. What are you doing, Hiro, that eats up the resources of four computers to the point that Finale can't be used on them?
