Dear Noel,

You are right - my bad. I can't predict when this will happen. I have reported as much pertinent information as I can find - system, memory etc. I will send a copy of the file when it happens again (and try to narrow the window of what might have caused it).

I was not trying to be critical of MM's attitude about this (plenty of others are holding up that placard), so I expressed myself badly, if it came off that way. I am not an apologist for them either, but I do know some of the people and find them to be decent and reputable, and they make it clear that they have pride and want to have a good product.

I should have been more clear that my frustration is more about not being able to identify the occasions when this bug occurs so that I can't tell them what's going on in a way that would be useful to them (and ultimately to me).

Chuck

Seems reasonable enough to me, no matter how much one wants to find a problem, if one cannot do so, one cannot address it. This raises in my mind, exactly what those who make bug reports include in those reports. I'd guess the chances that a bug report is going to be taken seriously improves the more information one includes: and that it would be helpful to MacSupport or WinSupport, besides knowing what platform one is running, also to know how much memory is available, what notation files are open, and what other processes might be running, and what utilities might be running, and it would probably be helpful to have include with the bug report a copy of any notation files being edited when the problem was found.
