Best: One whole note with the notation "a2". Almost as good: 2 whole notes adjacent and touching, w. *1* fermata centered between them.

Notations such as "1, 2" should only be used where *more* than 2 parts share a staff, or to indicate voice crossings.

2 fermatas over unison wholes is just wrong (think of what you'd write if it were a violin unison double-stop).
