That's cute! There happens to be a Blank Notation to Layer 4 (the usual cue note layer) Staff Style already created, though you might have to edit it to allow items in other measures to show. Of course, in the score one wouldn't care if the blank Layer 4 was used for spacing or not, nor whether the blank measures are included in a multimeasure rest, which could have been an issue in the parts.
