I always thought the main reason was that Finale has some kind of default setting that makes it very non-legato in comparison to the MIDI files. That means it's a setting that Finale sends to the MIDI output that doesn't get saved in the MIDI file (thankfully!). If MM would fix Finale so that playback was identical with the saved MIDI file, that would be a good thing. -- David W.
