Don't mistake "generate parts" for "create the parts you defined."  They 

should have labeled the button "generate parts with no effort on your 

part" so as not to be misleading -- it's not necessary to click it to 

create the parts which have shown up in the left-hand panel.


Not only is it not necessary, but it undoes whatever parts you had previously defined. Got caught a couple of times before I understood what this was about.
