I was privileged this week to participate in what is planned as the

Topics included:
Working with real-time input (Hyperscribe, etc.)
Understanding Percussion Mapping (worth the price by itself)
Creating A Choral Score
Creating Large Ensemble Scores
Playback-Garritan and SmartMusic sounds
While I can certainly see the value of such an intensive workshop, and
applaud MM for getting out among its customers, one question occurs to
me. Should not all those functions be taken care of, easily if not
automatically, by the program and its existing reference materials?

I know of several powerful products which offer such workshops, though,
as a means of helping the end-user get into the deeper aspects more
easily and quickly. But the other products I know of charge money for
these things, even though they are essentially "Here, let me show you
what our tech writers couldn't figure out how to explain properly. Oh
yeah, be sure to pay me for this, too." sessions which, as you indicate,
shouldn't be necessary.
A question for Horace -- was there a charge for that workshop? How much
was it?
