Couldn't you use stemless noteheads? If you have TG Tools select Modify... select Remove... select Stems and Rests..and you won't have to mess with stems at all. Put your notes in, remove the stems, then ente your bass sstuff.

I enter figured bass as lyrics. When there are several figures over the same note, I enter dummy hidden rests in voice 2. When these notes have stems, I enter the voice 2 on the other side of the stem, to avoid seeing the stem flip the wrong way.

But then, I sometimes need to transpose these pieces, and then stems of these notes are frozen and can be wrong.

Is there any easy way out of this, besides flipping the stems one by one? Like an option that would leave stems alone when the rests are hidden?
