Finale simply is not stable in 10.5, so, I have to reboot into 10.4 to run it. Same with SmartMusic. Who knows when the MakeMusic people will release a fix for these two programs. I'm not expecting anything soon, perhaps Jan or Feb 08. I'd stick with 10.4 for Finale. Sibelius seems to run really well in 10.5, and the support for Leopard's file preview thing from finder is there as well, so you can see a little of your score before opening it up in Sibelius.
There are some problems with Sibelius as well, but they already have patches posted for both Sib 4 and Sib 5.1 that fix some of them. Officially Sib 4 is not supported for Leopard, Sib 5.1 is. One of the problems is apparently with installing Garritan sounds, although there's no problem if they're already installed. You might want to check this out for Finale as well. Apparently it relates to problems with Native Instruments and/or with the Vise installer, which they're supposedly working on. And as usual, the Sib people are open, responsive, and on top of the problems.
