Thanks for your response. I used to use Shape Expression but I got frustrated. It only allows horizontal stretching but won't give me controls on curves. One other frustration on Shape Expression, which I have sent a feature request over 20 years just too many times, is that there is no way to specify the coordinates by numeric value. I have never liked Shape Designer.
