It could be much simpler. For instance, MS Word allows you to embed 
all the fonts used in the document, in case the recipient lacks your 
special fonts. That also makes the Word document NONEDITABLE. If 
Finale offered that, it could be a good way to share files 
noneditably, as well as a good way to make sure all the fonts showed 
up correctly.
