hi. any CCC users that can give me advice on this? (respond privately)

i asked recently about the various backup solutions that people use. i think i
am eventually going to go for tobias' superflexible programme, but a version
for macmini isn't yet available. i just bought an external drive, and have
dedicated a partition for a bootable clone of my HD. downloaded CCC and cloned
the drive. cleaned up some things on the clone for how i would want my setup
and am about to dump back (restore) to my HD.

i just want to know if there are things i need to watch out for... am i going
to have to reinstall programmes or anything, reenter passwords that are saved
in various places, or is it fairly straight ahead, i.e. i restore, reboot and
everything is just like before, only better?

my mac techie suggested doing this, because in 4yrs i have never de-fragged
because i never was able to do complete backups, so the system is running
really slow. he is convinced this and deleting massive amounts of files
clogging up the available space that OSX uses as memory will resolve
essentially all of the problems i have been experiencing.

i've never done complete BU before and restored from the backup, also have
never had bootable disk images or whatever and so am a little nervous about it.

thanks for any advice (or comforting 8-) )
jef
