Roger,

I deleted the Preference file in desperation. Couldn't think of anything else to do, having tired all combinations of things I had tried in the past. I always keep copies of my current Preference file handy so the deleted one is easily replaced. I have no idea what part of it had become corrupted, but it hardly matters when replacing it is so easy.

Did you find out what was corrupted about the file or did you just delete/replace it? I ask because we have had similar problems but with WinXp and Fin07.

Hi all,

It was a corrupted Preferences file. The possibility escaped me
because, in every other way, Finale was behaving normally.

Whew!

Thanks for all the ideas.
