I just want to clarify this remark in an otherwise clear reply -- the majority of *newer* (read that as copyrighted) orchestral music is available only on rental -- the standard repertoire (which unfortunately still accounts for 80%-90% of modern orchestral programming) is still available for sale, as is the vast school orchestra library.
