Has there ever been a solution or workaround for properly transposing chords (on a transposing part) in a piece with no key signature for all instruments? I'm talking about using linked parts.

Thanks,

Yes, though you can't have them in concert key in the score and transposed on the parts in 2008. The only solution there is to have a separate score file. Here's how you do it.

Selection Tool, select the entire staff in question.

Go to Utilities>Change>Chords...

Click Transpose and select the transposition you want (trumpet or tenor sax, up a major second, for example)

Done. Repeat for Eb instruments.

In 2009 you don't need this procedure because the chords transpose automatically even when there is no key sig. Yay! (only took them about ten years.) They are also correct if the score is concert and the parts transposed.
