I was merely refering to "much more difficult than I ever imagined", which doesn't need to be the case. I edit recordings a lot, and have done and am doing full CDs with hundreds of edits, so I think I know roughly what I am talking about. Doing as slice as you call it is something that shouldn't take much more than 10 seconds.
