What about using the Right-Click-Menu?
In score highlight a region then choose from context menu whatever you need.
When I do so I find the staff-style in score and parts.

Hi all wise and experienced persons,
I am having trouble apply staff styles to both score and parts by default
in 2010a. I see a menu item that says "Apply selected style to score and
parts," but I haven't figure out how to apply this without selecting it
each time (PITA). I keep ending up with styles in the score that do not
appear in the parts. I am missing some piece of information. There must
be a more global (and a consistent) way to control this. Advice will be
appreciated.
