Yes, of course. A trombone is just a big trumpet (which is exactly
what the word means in Italian). Just remember that the lower you
get in an instrument's range, the wider the lip tone leaps. A bass
trombone can do it, no problem (and so could a tuba), but you might
not like the effect. On horn the problem is the opposite: the lip
tones are TOO close together! But mellophone could duplicate the
trumpet's ornament.
