Well, it is true that it will do the same thing as I want, assigning the dotted quarter the same numeric value as the quarter, but ideally i think in a score you'd want the graphical dotted quarter = quarter and then when it switches back to 2/4 a graphical quarter = dotted quarter. Just seems that it was overlooked in Finale playback, and it is rather common I think.......
