How does a long warning period help a Finale user who has archives of old files going back several versions? Are you saying they should convert all of them before switching? For some Finale users that would mean they wouldn't have any time to do anything else! Another solution would be to maintain a legacy Mac, but eventually that's going to die, and eventually, it won't be possible to acquire working hardware that can run the relevant OS version, so that's not really a permanent solution. Virtualization solves all of these problems, and that's why I'm still puzzled as to why it's not more widespread on the Mac, and, secondarily, why Apple is not providing it itself. -- David W.
