Depends what you want to do. I have one of the first intel MacBooks and that will run Finale with no probs and record 24+ (probably very +) tracks of 24/44.1 audio and run a ton of large sample libraries.
Unless you specifically need to do something more than this then anything you can currently buy should be great. Steve P.
