repeating a little of what i said for (hopefully more) clarity, i always position tempo expressions (for example) in their default setting in the SC despite collisions and bad positioning (i.e. optimized for positioning in the majority of cases in the PTs), then select and unlink every instance where it is needed and move individually in the SC, starting top down. if i need to move only in the vln staff in the SC, i will still unlink all instances of the same expression (i.e in the same measure) before moving as needed.
