Very useful Chris, thanks. On Windows it's Ctrl+= in Speedy for the second
time ending backwards tie, and it only plays back properly when there is a
final note in the bar *before* the first time ending - i.e. the note that
ties to the second ending. Strangely it doesn't matter whether or not that
note actually has its forward tie!

The other problem I've found is when the last note in a first ending is tied
back to the first note at the beginning of the repeated section, i.e. back
to the forward repeat sign. When the tie in the first ending is entered
normally with = in Speedy, the note will tie to the first note in the second
ending, with which it should have no connection, and it needs adjustment
with the tie tool. And you can't use Ctrl+= to enter a backwards tie at the
forward repeat sign. The tie never plays back properly either - the note at
the beginning of the repeated section is always struck again on the repeat.

This happens regularly for me, for example when inner parts are playing
syncopated rhythms with ties across barlines. I forget about using ties
altogether and enter them as slurs when I'm using the smart shape tool, and
adjust them as I go. There's a workaround for proper playback, but it's a
bit too complicated to explain here.

Peter
