mmmmmm, i'm not sure i get what you are trying to do / see. layer option "hide layer when inactive" unselected - when viewing in layer 1, layers 2-4 are also visible - all layers are visible all the time, unless overridden by "document menu / show active layer only" - when in speedy frame, stem directions behave according to layer option defs
layer option "hide layer when inactive" selected - when viewing in layer 1, layers 2-4 are not visible - works all the time *except* when in the speedy frame - when in speedy frame, stem directions behave as if there were no other layers (ignoring layer option defs) parallel to that, there is the behaviour of hidden notes... what exactly do you want to see / not see in what context(s)? >I tried it but I can't see it happening. >Let's say I wrote a passage in layer 2 just for playback purpose so >music in layer 2 will have to be hidden; I then write the notation I >want to be visible in layer 1. In Document Options I select "Hide >Layer When Inactive" for layer 2; in this way, when attempting to >insert notes in layer 1 I don't see the grayed out notes from layer >2, regardless if view menu > show > hidden notes and rests is >selected or not. -- BLOCK SEMINAR (18hrs): score design, function and role instructor: jef chippewa 25-27 jun @ CMMAS (morelia, mexico) http://cmmas.org/cmmas_eventos.php?lan=es&id=904 LECTURE-RECITAL: problematics of electroacoustic notation 14-17 aug @ toronto int.
