In all of this I don't remember whether you are on Windows or Mac, but if you're on a Windows machine, there's a much less expensive alternative to Acrobat: PowerPDF either the Standard version ($99.99) or the Advanced version ($149.99), from Nuance Software. That lets you combine multiple files into a single PDF, break a single PDF into multiple PDF files, extract/delete/insert pages in a PDF file. It's a wonderful PDF utility for Windows users. -- David H.
