in Speedy, opt-=. 

This only works when there are endings involved, much to my dismay. I think 
Finale should make it work anywhere. If you are, for example, starting a coda 
system with a previously-tied note, you will have to tie forward in the usual 
way, then edit the tie to go backwards with the Special Tool.
