I bet greg doesn't. I bet he's just seeing application areas with no borders, not being able to resize them. I bet he's suffering from the twm crashing bug in Xdarwin 4.1. (Remember that one -- I think it has been mentioned once or twice on this list ;-) ) If this matches what you're seeing, you need to either upgrade to Xdarwin 4.2, which is in unstable but seems really stable, or install another windowmanager, e.g. windowmaker or blackbox.
