I need to understand better exactly what you did, before I can help.
Did you do things in the order you mentioned?
1) install fink (binary or source?)
2) use fink to install xdarwin ("fink install xfree86-rootless"), or
did you get it from the XFree86 or XonX sites?
3) "install macgimp" -- how did you do this? do you have a macgimp CD?
how old is it?
The problem you are having is that xemacs was compiled assuming a certain
version of the libtiff library, and you have a different version installed
on your system. I am trying to figure out where each of the relevant
pieces came from.
