Hi, there seems to be something odd in my fink directory. Following Matt's suggestion to find out what was the problem in updating nedit I checked the finkinfo directories. First of all in /sw I have the fink directory and a fink.old directory. Is this normal? Can I get rid of fink.old? Moreover in the various subdirectories of /sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo I have two .info files for many packages, the most recent one owned by me and an older one owned by root. For instance here is a bit of my directory including nedit (which is indeed one of the packages with double .info file):

Could someone explain to me what the problem is and how to fix it? Many thanks in advance.
