I got this when I tried to install vim :
noodle:/Users/david] david# fink install vim
Information about 1686 packages read in 1 seconds.

pkg vim version ###
pkg vim version 6.1-4

fink needs help picking an alternative to satisfy a virtual dependency. The
candidates:

(1) system-xfree86: Placeholder package for manually installed XFree86
(2) xfree86-base: XFree86 libraries, utilities, clients and data
(3) xfree86-base-threaded: XFree86 libraries, utilities, clients and data

Pick one: [1] ^C
this brings to mind three questions : What is a virtual dependancy?
Why would vim need XFree86?
What happened after I killed fink?(Have I done a bad thing)

Thanks,

David Salib
