I'm getting the digests, so saw your reply in the archives. I had
previously tried moving .gnome to .gnome~ with no results. I'm afraid
that moving the .gnome* and .gconf* files to gnome_prefs_old did not
work either.
It's more of a nuisance than anything else; while the menu bar (for
Gnumeric, e.g.) is hidden, the commands are accessible.
Might this be related to the X11 Library warning posted by Ben Hines?
