OK so, I find Fink, my objective is to get PAN working, since PAN is the BEST newsreader I've ever run, and there are not many decent news readers for Mac.
Installed X11, installed fink, Open Office runs just fine under X11.
However when I try to get the fink packages, it sees 1187 but saves none. So if I do install, there is nothing to install..
here is my output doing fink scanpackages.
sudo /sw/bin/fink scanpackages Password: Information about 1158 packages read in 2 seconds.

Anyone gotta clue?? It sees the packages but doesn't save them.. Permissions??
