I've been having difficulty downloading emacs today. Initially I was downloading and installing kde with 'fink install bundle-kde' and when it got to downloading emacs21-xaw (or whatever it was called...) curl stopped at 99% and just hung for ages. then I hit control-c and tried again ... and again and again. Sometime if I left it long enough I got a few lines of special junk (?unicode?) characters and then a message to say that the download failed. In this case, curl got to 100%. So ... I tried just installing emacs using 'fink install emacs20' - no luck there so also tried emacs21 - and from several different mirrors. No success with that either - every time it got to 99 or 100% and hung. I installed a few other things and these downloaded and compiled fine ... so I really can't work out what's wrong. It seems like something specific to both versions of emacs on several mirrors. I've searched the beginners and users list archives but couldn't find anything there.
