The snippiness was unintentional. You must be on 10.3, then, as 10.2-gcc3.3 seems only to have 1.2.4-12. Unfortunately, since the package database site is down, I have no idea what the most current 10.3 versions of packages are. If you added the unstable trees and ran "fink selfupdate" (mandatory if you are using rsync) then you should see the most current available versions of everything.

To install gimp-1.3.x via Fink would involve creating package information and patch files for this version.
