fink rebuild
fink reinstall just reinstalls a package, thus if it finds the deb, it does reinstall it...

...ok, I tried this, but when I try to reinstall (after removing the installed version), it doesn't run thru the configure process, but instead just unpacks binaries...I also tried to "purge" the install, but still didn't get it to recompile with the changed ConfigureParams...
any other ideas?
