I had the same issue. For whatever reason the change in default shell showed up in X11 (Apple) only after a reboot...

Along the same line of question, I have not been able to change the default shell from bash to tcsh in X Window under 10.3. I was able to change that in the Apple Terminal application. I also changed the default shell under my log-in account with NetInfo. Neither of that changed the default shell when I get into the X Window system.

Can anyone help me with that simple question? Thanks.
