The last time I used fink was in 10.1. I'm using 10.3.7 with the latest updates to Xcode tools, Apples supplied X11, & X11 sdk.
How do I go about setting up `enlightenment' window manager using the bash shell. I tried making an `.xinitrc' file in my home folder but then x11 refused to start. Once I removed the `.xinitrc' file x11 would start again. Do I put the command in the `.profile' file? If so what is the command to start `enlightenment' as my wm?

Thanks,
John

You have to do a few special things for Apple's X11--in particular you have to read in the Fink environment. Check out:
http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/x11/run-xfree86.php?phpLang=en#xinitrc
The examples shown will all run under Apple's X11, so you should be able to use one as a template.

Thank you Alexander. I found the page link you gave me, copied the `xinitrc' file from the /private/etc/X11/xinit path to my /~ folder. I got `enlightenment' started so I can now work on customizing it and the `xinitrc' file
. I have one more problem, I ran the path setup command a few times and fink tells me that my path looks like it is set properly, yet when I try to launch a program, it says "command not found" I have to find the entire path to launch a program. Is there a better way of doing this?

Thanks,
John

If it's just X11 terminals and not the OSX Terminal, then you should change the X11 Terminal menu item to use "xterm -ls" rather than just "xterm"--this runs another login shell and reads in your Fink environment.
