Thanks for the tips but it han't helped.
I tried updating the mirrors and have gone through about 10 sites with no luck at updating. It still keeps saying that there is no connection to host.

Should I remove fink and reinstall the whole thing again?

Trying a few more URLs would probably have succeeded. The mirror list from fink-0.21.2 contains some URLs that don't work any more. It is bad luck that these zombies showed up at the head of the list. You could also try to update the "fink-mirrors" package first.
