Hello,
I was hoping somebody would point me to a faq on the net. I have a package, bison, that needs to be installed because it's required by another bigger package on my Mac 10.3. The bigger package wants version 2.1 while the fink info and patch files for bison have version 1.35 in the /sw/fink/10.3/XXX/main/finkinfo/devel/ where XXX is stable and unstable. I have since downloaded the source for bison2.1 and placed it in /usr/local/src/bison2.1

My questions are:
A) how do I tell fink that this package installed after a successfull ./configure, make, sudo make.

Or, B) what do I do to the .info and .patch files to get fink to install it itself, either off the net or from my source directory.

I also have another issue, which may be related. I did a search in finder for bison2.1 and it did not show the files in in /usr/local/src. Why is this happening? I unhid the hidden directories in finder such that in Macintosh HD I can see all of the files that are hidden by default on Mac OS 10.3. When I do ls -all in terminal, I have drwxr-xr-x for the bison file permissions follwed by my own login name for the ownership. I tried a find in finder for the other files in /usr/local/src and they were not found either.

Thanks for any help,
Frank
