Over the last couple of years, after installing and reinstalling fink, I never get any package updates. I have had gnome desktop and xfce installed in the past, though I don't now. So, I would expect with that amount of stuff there would be some updates some times.
I've switched from rsync to cvs and back, still fink update-all after fink selfupdate always says no packages to install.
