I am a new user and admittedly have no idea what I'm doing. That's why I'm following directions given to me by my professor. Here's my issue: I'm installing R on my macbook pro with leopard 10.5.7. As instructed, I downloaded R, aquamacs, the latest version Xcode, and the latest version of Fink. I was instructed to install the following packages in this order: xorg xorg-shlibs tetex tetex-texmf auctex xdvi ghostscript ghostscript-fonts gv ggv ispell xorg xorg-shlibs and ghostscript-fonts do not appear in the main window when I start Fink. I need to know if I absolutely need those packages to run R, or are they somehow automatically installed already, or is there some workaround I can employ. Thanks.
