Dear Alexander:
I have installed Xcode Version 2.5 successfully.
I have run fink selfupdate-rsync successfully - during the selfupdate, i was
told i was ready to run fink update-all, should I do this>
When I ran fink install tetex, I got the following error message however - I
have included below the last several lines of interest:
cd . && /bin/sh /sw/src/fink.build/gd2-2.0.35-4/gd-2.0.35/config/missing --run
aclocal-1.9 -I config
aclocal:configure.ac:64: warning: macro `AM_ICONV' not found in library
cd . && /bin/sh /sw/src/fink.build/gd2-2.0.35-4/gd-2.0.35/config/missing --run
automake-1.9 --foreign
cd . && /bin/sh /sw/src/fink.build/gd2-2.0.35-4/gd-2.0.35/config/missing --run
autoconf
configure.ac:64: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_ICONV
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.
See the Autoconf documentation.

Before reporting any errors, please run "fink selfupdate" and
try again. If you continue to have issues, please check to see if the
FAQ on fink's website solves the problem. If not, ask on the fink-users
or fink-beginners mailing lists, with a carbon copy to the maintainer:
Dave Morrison <[email protected]>
Note that this is preferable to emailing the maintainer directly, since
most fink package maintainers do not have access to all possible
hardware and software configurations.

Is the solution for me to run this fink update-all command? or something else?
Again I really appreciate your help here, thanks.
Bruno

You'll want Xcode 2.5; and for source installs we _don't_ use apt-get.
After doing "fink selfupdate-cvs" or "fink selfupdate-rsync" to turn on
the source distribution, you'll use
fink install tetex
to install it.
