Ah, forgot that question. No, I do not have a custom icon for the HD that Fink
is being installed on.
However, that still shouldn't be installed in /._.
When I paste a custom icon onto a SnowLeopard HD, there is a file written at
/.VolumeIcon.icns
What is the original problem? No system file that I know of writes anything to
/._. let alone any dot-underbar file. Dot-underbar files (AppleDouble) are
generally reserved for filesystems that do not understand resource forks or
extended attributes, of which any HFS+ FS should (which is what mine, and most
Mac OS boot volumes, is).
