If you upgraded from 10.9 to 10.10:

Capture a list of your installed packages.

Rename your old Fink tree and bootstrap a new Fink.

Then there are a couple of options to try:

1) install relevant packages from the .deb files from your old tree into
your new one via "sudo dpkg -i /path/to/pkg1.deb /path/to/pkg2.deb ...".
The .deb files will be in /sw.renamed/var/lib/apt/archives and in the
directories under
/sw.renamed/fink/10.7/stable/main/binary-darwin-x86_64/ (where I called
the renamed old fink tree /sw.renamed)

This will reduce how many packages you have to build from scratch.

2) I haven't tested this one as of yet, but you might try renaming your
new Fink tree and restoring your old one, and then use "sudo dpkg -i
/sw.new/fink/10.7/stable/main/binary-darwin-x86_64/base/fink_0.38.0-1_darwin-x86_64.deb"

to install the new fink over your old one.

If you updated from 10.8 or earlier, then we don't provide any upgrade
path.
