So it does not delete anything although it should. It seems the syntax of selfupdate-rsync does not work with older versions of rsync (older than the one in Panther). Even killing the fink rsync package will not be sufficient on 10.2.8. The selfupdate-rsync command itself has to be fixed.


If that is the case, indeed the selfupdate-rsync code should be fixed. While we can provide an updated rsync package, I wouldn't want to turn it into an essential package, unless we absolutely have to.
