No, it's expected that Fink will try to update itself when you run

I was also having problems with one of my machines yesterday (I didn't report them yet because I wanted to do some investigation myself). Maybe fink 0.18.0 doesn't work on machines whose owners are named "Matthias".


The problem was that during the test phase, two tests had problems: chowname.t failed some tests, and, I think, failure.t failed some tests. I did some tracking of the chowname test and found it somewhat irritating that an uid of -2 came out as an unsigned int instead. Could we dealing with a perl bug in some versions?
