I actually ran into the same problem on the weekend and patched
boost's build system to add -fabi-version=1 and that fixed my
problems.  The build system seems to ingore CPPFLAGS/CXXFLAGS so that
made the patch necessary.  Boost 1.31 has been updated in cvs and 1.32
should be as soon as I rebuild/check it.
