It's supposed to save state in fink.conf so only root can set

No change to fink.conf even after having made it world-writeable
and re-running one of those commands.
The writing mechanism appears to check for "being root" not "file
writability", but...
(Furher, I do run many of those commands as root.)

Another small point: to get rid of this for the moment, I answered 'yes' once.
This added the lines
Buildpath: /sw/bld.build
Flags: SpotlightWarning
in fink.conf, and stopped the questions, but
the previous symlink /sw/bld -> /classic/bld is unchanged, as well as its target,
and a new directory /sw/bld.build has been created...
